You know that it’s been a hectic last few weeks when I don’t even have time to publish a regular Flashback Friday post – sorry about that. It has certainly been a busy time lately with both social activities and also quite a lot of work on at the moment (Friday I was actually up in Auckland doing some teaching).
A few weeks ago, one of my safety audit jobs took me to check out a new subdivision built near Casebrook off Styx Mill Rd in the north of the city. While checking out the adjacent streets, we came across this unexpected little gem in Millhaven Park:

There are a growing number of cycle training tracks appearing around the city. Previously we have alluded to the ever-popular one at Westburn Reserve (Burnside), as well as a newer one at Knights Stream (Halswell). Several schools have also added cycle tracks to their playground areas, such as Addington School and Somerfield School, and even the East Frame in town has some fun pump tracks. So it’s great to see another new residential area providing a simple opportunity for kids to get into the biking habit…
Have you come across bike training tracks in your neighbourhood?
