Photos of the Day: Return to Copenhagen

Way back in 2010, I first visited Copenhagen, as reported here back in 2016. Copenhagen really is one of the top cycling cities in the world (competing hard with Amsterdam), so I took various photos of interesting cycling facilities around the city (no surprises that I was there for a cycling conference…). That included what became one of my favourite photos and has duly become my default screen wallpaper image…

Copenhagen in 2010 – so many cyclists…

Fast forward to 2026 now and, during my return back there, I figured it was time to pay another visit to the same location…

Hello Copenhagen, I’m back!

Yep, this location (the Dronning Louises Bridge if you’re interested) hasn’t changed too much – they’ve lost a directional sign and some of the markings have been tweaked as well. But otherwise it’s still a well used cycle route in Copenhagen.

16 years on, still plenty of cyclists…

Who knows, maybe this might become my next new screen wallpaper… I took several other photos again around Copenhagen on this visit, so I’ll look to showcase those in the near future.

Have you been to Copenhagen? What did you think?
