This Sunday 7th December, Spokes Canterbury are organising a fun activity to celebrate the end of the year, teaming up with Action Bicycle Club and Christchurch Electric Bicycles. Come along to the City to Sea pathway from 10am for a Cargo Bike Picnic Ride!
Whether you own a cargo bike, load up a bike, use a trailer, or are just curious to try one out, everyone is welcome to join the crowd for a scenic ride, testing out some interesting bikes, and enjoying a community picnic.
The event will start at the western end of the of the City to Sea shared pathway (by Fitzgerald Ave) and the group will head downstream from about 10.15am enjoying the wonderful new pathway, crossings, and bridges.
At around 10.45-11.00, it will be time to stop, relax, and enjoy a community picnic at Avebury Park in Richmond – please bring your own food, drink and other goodies.
You don’t have to own a cargo bike (or long-tail, or trailer) to come along – anyone is welcome to join in the fun and perhaps have a go trying out someone else’s bike!
