That's great news!
For me it's mostly when I need to travel to/from Lyttelton that I put my bike on the bus. It can be an issue if I'm travelling with other people as two racks aren't quite enough!

"The bus rack was full" doesn't matter if you can carry the folded bike on the bus with you.

Of course it helps a lot if the bike is designed to fold up !

Being able to put my heavy ebike on the bus extends my range beyond the standard 40-50km range I can easily reach.
If I personally run out of puff and/or go into my all-to-common state of atrial fibrillation or the weather turns really foul, it is great to know that I have the bike-on-bus as an alternative method back to Sumner. Given increased frequency of the #3 bus this year, I cannot recall waiting more than 10 minutes, but suspect I have been lucky.
NB My bike is at the weight limit of 24Kg, and the wide tyres make some bus drivers nervous about accepting the bike. But so far, all drivers have accepted it at my risk of course - and me!
