In reply to Kathleen Lawrence. Totally agree. How does this meet the criteria that new roads should be better for all users including cyclists and pedestrians? Got to be pretty brave or stupid to travel in a 1.5m cycle lane on the inside of dual lanes. What do cyclists do who want to carry on down Cranford street to avoid getting hit by cars wanting to turn left who will be on their right? So now we will have traffic queues in the city rather than outside. Terrible plan and still no answers on what will be done to mitigate the effects of extra traffic in the surrounding residential areas. But wait... the original plan was sold on the basis that it would help take traffic away from neighbouring streets. Awful plan on so many levels.

CAN THE PLAN !!!
This plan especially from Innes Road /Cranford intersection to city will damage St Albans community. Access to schools Parks etc in this area will be not only busier with several main roads to cross , but down right dangerous for families.

The Project sounds great, I live in Winters Road, but suggest that it should be finished ASAP. Night work would be great. Don’t let it linger on and on, as what happens with most road works around Christchurch.

Lenny – thank you for the quantity of images and maps used. Helps a lot more than “artists impressions” !

This has been mooted in principal since the 1980s – my parents moved out of Dunbarton Street in 1985 because of it.
