Parking is the low-hanging fruit because road makes for an expensive carpark. But we don’t want roads like Australia where there are two lanes each way, no parking, no room at all for cycling. That setup looks like a nightmare for cycling.

Remember painted cycling lanes provide all the protection of a wet noodle. I’d rather remove all the parking and have a physical barrier rather than having a narrow painted lane squeezed in. Or I’d forgo the main roads as much as possible and take the better cycling route where available,even if that means going out of my way and a longer route.
