					<description><![CDATA[Sadly there&#039;s only so-much room in a roadway for all the users.  And anything allocated to one group is taken away from other groups.   Noone ever suggests eliminating footpaths.

Parking is the low-hanging fruit because road makes for an expensive carpark.   But we don&#039;t want roads like Australia where there are two lanes each way, no parking, no room at all for cycling.  That setup looks like a nightmare for cycling.

Remember painted cycling lanes provide all the protection of a wet noodle.  I&#039;d rather remove all the parking and have a physical barrier rather than having a narrow painted lane squeezed in.    Or I&#039;d forgo the main roads as much as possible and take the better cycling route where available,even if that means going out of my way and a longer route.]]></description>
