In reply to LennyBoy. That recent section that is now open and fantastic, allows me to avoid Springs Road and Shands etc. Much safer and shorter to get to Prebbleton. I wonder if they will ever make getting through Prebbletons safe.

In reply to Colin Pearson. Yep, it is getting a traffic-free connection via the existing underpass to Halswell Junction Rd and then under the new HJ Rd overbridge - nearly open!

Springs Rd roundabout isn’t ‘tricky’. It’s really dangerous at peak times. The motorway extension should have had an underpass to allow riders from the city to safely access the extension to the rail trail that goes to Prebbleton.

A good time to remind us exactly what improvements there have been in the last 7 years. Not speedy, nor perfect, but significant nevertheless.
