When it comes to disparity of living standards ( particularly in urban areas ) in New Zealand that we talk so much about these days I wonder how much real difference is made from two simple little words – bicycle and volunteerism. Comparable perhaps to pouring in money from the top down via a govt scheme , or better ? Having the infrastructure in place for safe cycling to start with is key, and we do have the govt et al to thank for that.
