One thing I noticed on the schematics in the previous post was the absence of a pedestrian crossing on the road at the Oxford Street entrance. This is a recipe for trouble. You can't expect people riding a bike or jogging on a shared path to stop for pedestrians randomly crossing when there is not a proper pedestrian crossing treatment (with a sufficient margin so road users can see pedestrians about to cross) for both motorists and people using the shared path through route.

On the road space contention issue regarding parking versus other transport route uses I really wish councils would tough up and just say "Ok, you can keep your parking if you pay market rental. Here is what is worth". If the complainers cough with the cash to pay for the parking then fine, they keep it. If they don't then they have no further property rights over the public transport land.
