Doesn&#039;t really work for a two-way cycleway however; drivers would not be expecting to look in the opposing direction and there&#039;s nothing physically reducing the speed/risk (e.g. a raised platform). You would also effectively have an on-road contraflow cycle lane right next to an opposing traffic lane on the driver&#039;s left side - fairly unnerving for both parties.]]></description>

Tennyson St has a neat solution to that, by dropping the cycleway back on to the road for the ~10m approaching an intersection. It could still be a protected on-road cycleway for that short stretch. Shame they didn&#039;t think of that here.
