Very interesting and extensive contribution about the bicycle infrastructure in Nantes. I found it because I am researching for an article for the bicycle magazine of the Austrian Bicycle Lobby, http://www.drahtesel.or.at/. You have very good bicycle infrastructure photos of Nantes, would it be possible to get them in high quality for use for Drahtesel and maybe our Website? You also shot a nice photo of me from the Speed Dating.

I have just spent a month in the French alps and two weeks around Bordeaux, mainly cycling. What struck me most is the ambience towards cycling. Cyclists are respected, often given way to when there is no obligation, traffic expects to wait for safe overtaking opportunities, Traffic is much slower in suburban streets. Taking your bike on trains is easy. People seem to want to work around cyclists. Regarding uncertain priority. It pays to check, but mostly cars give way to cycles on designated routes. It’s hard to believe just how pleasant the cycling ambience is in France.
