This morning, I was cycling on a busy Pound Road near the quarry entrance and I was given advance warning of a tip truck with trailer alerting me that it was behind and advancing quickly. He tooted after he had passed too. I appreciated that.

An excellent question Ian; I guess historically it wasn’t so much of an issue expecting to have bikes next to trucks (no bike lanes?). But overseas we are starting to see some very interesting truck designs proposed where the cab is either reshaped or made more transparent in places so that the sightlines are much improved.
