Multi direction pedestrian & cycle specific light phasing would be helpful at many large intersections. Probably not that beneficial at small intersections though on time vs safety balance (as causes delays)

Good point; that cycle lane heading west across the Lincoln Rd intersection always seems very exposed to get to. And yet I could see that the left turn traffic would probably go at the same time as the Lincoln Rd traffic, so you would need somewhere to safely wait on your bike. Perhaps separate cycle signal phasing is needed? (i.e. stop left-turners while cyclists go)

It also occurs to me that a left-turning cyclist there may be rather exposed to left-turning traffic cutting the corner. So perhaps a bit of physical protection (i.e. in front of Grove Rd) might be useful too.

Still not nice for cycling west on Moorhouse. It's sometime challenging getting into the middle of the 3 lanes and feel very exposed. Don't know if there is a way to fix to though. Perhaps because the intersection is so big, wide & multilane they will sequence the lights giving a all riders go period ? e.g. a bit like the mutliway all pedestrian timing the CBD had at major Colombo intersections
