It is great to bike out to LIncoln, but on the way back the northeasterlies usually pick up too much for the ride to be fun.
I never had issues with the bike rack, except that during peak hours it is sometimes full. My feeling is that the Lincoln bus gets really good use of the bike racks!
When I first started cycling out to Lincoln there were no bike racks on the bus, and it made a big difference in my commuting now that they have the racks, giving much more flexibility.
