In 2000 I visited Christchurch because they were leading AustNZ in cycling – I came to admire and learn. Now Sydney is making good progress, but it would be a shame if Christchurch lost its status as a fantastic cycling city, attracting visitors from far and wide. I’d encourage the Mayor and Councillors to invest in cycling, as the economic rewards – tourism and more, are well worthwhile.
