My philosophy is I’m not a “cyclist”… but I do cycle sometimes. I also walk and drive quite a bit, but I don’t tend to define myself as a “pedestrian” or a “motorist”. I use a computer too – am I a “computerist”? My point being: if we want to get people to see cycling as a normal everyday activity, perhaps we need to be more low-key about it. If they want to make a big fuss about the fact that we cycled somewhere, perhaps we should berate them to “get over it – it’s just cycling!”
