Pannier/backpack

Raviv has just got himself a custom made Twin Needle Mini Me pannier/backpack. The idea was to enjoy a simple, comfortable, strong & waterproof backpack which can also be easily carried on a bike while commuting to work.

The pack has a roll top single sack made of 1000 denier nylon ballistic (28 -35 litres depending on roll top closure).  It comes with internal zipped pocket and two side gusset pockets with compression straps and reflective tape.

The pannier system is made of two metal hooks attached to the bag through a specially designed Velcro pocket (means they can be easily removed) and a bungee cord with a quick release hook. They cost $165 and has the added benefit of being locally made in Christchurch and would be good for touring if you wanted to do side walks away from your bike. They are apparently working on Mark II which has a pocket to hide the backpack straps in when used as a pannier.

  1. Have you got any photos Steven? I realise this was a while ago, but there is no mention of them on the Twin Needle website. Cheers, Jim
